The company offers collection, recycling, treatment, and final disposal of urban, domestic, and industrial waste; and draining and management of rainwater in urban areas in cities of the North of Minas Gerais, as well as the water basins of the Jequitinhonha, Mucuri, SÃ£o Mateus, BuranhÃ©m, ItanhÃ©m, and JucuruÃ§u rivers. As of December 31, 2020, it had 640 concessions to provide water services; and 310 concessions to offer sewage services. The company was formerly known as Companhia Mineira de Ãgua e Esgotos and changed its name to Companhia de Saneamento de Minas Gerais in November 1974.
